The significant part of this kukri is its unique micarta handle, its main strength. The material is very durable, is water-proof and has no shrinking issue later on when the knife gets old. The same micarta is fitted in handle in such a way that it gives the best possible grip. Hence making the deliverance easier, more effective and lot efficient. What’s so special about the blade?

The blade is very well balanced, sized, and shaped. The perfect weight of about 550-590 gms makes the knife very handy, effective and functional. The blade has raw fuller in the top section forged to support the sweet point. The groove in almost “D” shape helps to ease the tension/pressure of the edge during hard strikes as it absorbs the impact felt by the edge. It also digs out the unwanted mass from the blade to give out a balanced weight. The blade is mirror polished for easy maintenance. It has gentle curved shape which heavily exposes the sweet point which is needed for performing better. The traditional Notch (kaudi or cho) is removed to give a modern look the blade. 11.5 inch makes it deadly yet friendly. All these make the blade very special.

Micarta is a modern material made from resin, hardener, and various fabrics. It is very tough, durable, waterproof, and never shrinks hence is perfect for making knife handles. It also gives a sturdy grip (hold) and a beautiful look. This is the reason why Micarta is specifically used in this model to perform, to last long and to bring smiles all round. The brass fixtures on the other hand in Kukri bring safety, strength and style to the overall look of the kukri. The shape of the handle is cylindrical and goes bit curved as it finishes in butt, all done to give a comfortable and safe handling.

Yes, it comes with a default back up knife. It is fully functional and can actually replace the mother blade for small games and preparations. The sweeping blade profile having pointed tip section is forged out to enhance cutting and stabbing. Likewise its thick spine and tang having a full flat Micarta handle give enough power to the blade for any heavy and random cutting. The blade is raw to match the matt finished micarta handle. 3.5” blade + 2.5” handled with 5/6mm thick spine weighing 125 gms.

Does it come with a sheath? What’s it made up of? How the backup knife is fitted ??

The kukri package includes the mother blade, backup baby knife, and the traditional scabbard. The sheath is made in a traditional way and fully handmade after finishing both the blades, so exactly fit the shape as individual blade shape and size may vary due to the handmaking process.

The inner part of the sheath is made up of wood, covered by treated buffalo leather, and stitched together in the back of the sheath. separate housing is made for the backup knife. Here the sheath comes in brown color in default with a green frog, here the leather color is mixed to make the sheath more attractive and lively to match the handle.

What things should I care of?

If you are new to the kukri world; Make sure you know how to take the kukri out and put it back in the sheath properly, as the blade is very sharp you might cut palm and fingers while forcing the blade (its a very common issue).
