‘Dhankute Kukri’ belongs to a small town called “Dhankuta” in the eastern part of Nepal. This hilly place is not only famous for its iconic Dhankute kukri that originated here but also for its scenic beauty. It is populated by amazing native people with great skill and art in craftsmanship to showcase their natural ability. People’s main source is agriculture, farming, husbandry and local crafts.

Dhankute Horn is a traditional kukri made for working purpose. It has horn handle and beautifully carved horn scabbard, hence the name “Dhankute Horn”. Due to its special scabbard it is better suited for decorative objectives. The sheath is beautifully and painstakingly made out of buffalo horn and is decorated with national symbols. It displays the country’s glory and the feeling of patriotism.
达恩库特弯刀是一种传统的廓尔喀刀，专为工作而设计。它有一个牛角手柄和一个精美的牛角刀鞘，因此得名“达恩库特弯刀”。由于其特殊的刀鞘，它更适合作为装饰品。刀鞘由水牛角制成，并装饰有国家标志，制作精良，令人惊叹。它展现了国家的辉煌和爱国主义精神。

‘Dhankute Horn’ has lighter and slimmer blade than army or regular kukris. The blade profile is more towards the Chainpure and Sirupate versions. The regular blade size of ‘Dhankute Horn’ is 9 inch however this entirely depends on the size of horn available. Since the horn is natural and can come in various sizes the maker simply follows its size when making. Interestingly with the ‘Dhankute Horns’, the making is just the opposite. Here first the scabbard is made as per the size of the natural buffalo horn available in hand. Then the kukri blade is forged to fit in the scabbard properly. After that handle is made that suits the size of the blade.
