What is Budhune?? What does a Budhune kukri mean??

Budhune is a kukri term used to denote the fatty (broad) chest of a kukri blade. The chest or the upper portion of the blade is made significantly wide and the profile takes a sharp inward curve towards the belly when going to the ricasso area leaving an interesting yet very appealing shape. This kind of shape was mostly adapted in the classic era where the kukri was used aggressively as a dominant weapon. The broad chest will give the extra frontage weight, thus a lethal blow can be auto-generated in a single thrust/swing. Kukris with budhune shaped profile are simply the Budhune Kukris. 
“布德胡尼”是廓尔喀语中用来表示廓尔喀弯刀刀刃肥厚（宽阔）部分的术语。**刀刃的胸部或上部被做得特别宽大，并且廓形在靠近刀柄处急剧向刀腹弯曲，形成一个有趣而极具美感的形状。**这种形状主要在廓尔喀弯刀被用作主要武器的经典时代被采用。宽阔的胸部将提供额外的正面重量，因此，只需一次刺击/挥砍就能自动产生致命打击。**带有布德胡尼形状轮廓的廓尔喀弯刀就是布德胡尼廓尔喀弯刀。

Blade:: The unique and special feature of this blade is that it is forged very broad at the belly and makes a sharp inward turn at its re-curve making the blade look very elegant, classic and lethal at the same time. The broad width provides excellent weight and feel in the upper section of the blade, making swinging and hacking much easier and more effective even though the overall weight of the kukri is very less. The heavy weight/mass at the front generates a natural swing that aids the knife in successfully executing heavy and stressful works. A beautiful pattern is carved in the upper spine of the blade as part of decoration.
这种弯刀最大的特点是，刀身非常宽，在反曲处急剧向内弯曲，使刀身看起来既优雅、经典又致命。宽阔的刀身使得刀身上部的手感极佳，即使弯刀的重量很轻，也能更容易、更有效地挥舞和砍杀。刀尖的重量产生了一种自然的挥动，有助于刀具成功地完成繁重的工作。刀身上部脊柱刻有精美的图案作为装饰。

Handle:: It has a traditional “Parawal” or “Rat/Stick Tail Tang” handle with brass fixtures (pommel and butt cap). The handle gets some curve as it finishes towards the butt cap crafted to provide an easier and better grip. The classic shaped wooden handle has a thick long tang inside that is strongly fitted by epoxy and firmly secured at the back by a thick pommel that is peened over. The curved handle provides a perfectly balanced feel for the heavy broad blade at the front and thus handling is very easy. Thick (20 gauge) Brass Fixtures (bolster with lip and butt cap) are used to complete the making of this special Budhune vintage kukri’s handle.
